Sculptra in Hackensack, NJ. Build your own collagen. Gradual, structural, up to 2 years.

Sculptra is poly-L-lactic acid — a biostimulator that activates your body's own collagen production over months. The result: structural lift and skin quality, not gel volume. It's a different category than HA filler.

Answer at a glance

What is Sculptra, and how is it different from filler?

Sculptra is an FDA-approved biostimulator made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) — the same biocompatible material used in dissolvable surgical sutures. Unlike HA fillers, which add immediate gel volume, Sculptra triggers your own fibroblasts to produce new collagen over weeks. Results build gradually over 3–6 months and can last up to 2 years.

If HA filler is a "now" treatment, Sculptra is a "six-month investment." For patients who want their face to age more slowly — not look dramatically different overnight — it's often the better choice. We see Bergen County patients from Alpine, Saddle River, and Tenafly — twelve minutes from the GWB.

How Sculptra works

Sculptra is suspended PLLA microparticles. After injection into the deep dermis or subcutaneous tissue, the microparticles act as a scaffold that signals your fibroblasts — the cells that make collagen — to produce new type-I collagen. Over 9–24 months, the body resorbs the PLLA particles, leaving a denser collagen network behind. The visible effect builds gradually as that new collagen matures.

Who Sculptra is for

  • You want gradual change — friends notice over months, not the next day
  • You're replacing broad volume loss across mid-face, temples, or buttocks
  • You want skin-quality improvement, not just contour
  • You like the idea of stimulating your own tissue rather than placing gel

Frequently asked

Sculptra, answered.

The questions Bergen County patients ask before booking.

How much does Sculptra cost in Hackensack, NJ at Aesura?
Sculptra is priced per vial, typically $900–$1,100 per vial. Most facial plans use 2–6 vials spread across 2–4 sessions. Body areas (buttocks, décolleté) can use considerably more. We give you a complete plan and total at consultation, in writing.
How long do Sculptra results last?
Up to 2 years. Sculptra stimulates your body to produce new collagen as the PLLA microparticles gradually resorb over 9–24 months, leaving a denser collagen scaffold behind — which is why results outlast HA filler in the same area. Many patients return for a maintenance vial or two annually after their initial series.
When will I see results?
Sculptra is a gradual treatment by design. You may see mild volume from the saline carrier in the first few days; that resolves. The real result builds over 3–6 months as collagen matures. If you want immediate change, HA filler is a better fit.
Is Sculptra safe?
Yes — Sculptra has been FDA-approved since 2004 (originally for HIV-related lipoatrophy, then for cosmetic use). PLLA is the same biocompatible material in dissolvable surgical sutures. The most common side effects are temporary bruising and tenderness; rare nodules are minimized by proper injection technique and consistent post-treatment massage.
Can Sculptra be reversed?
No — unlike HA filler, Sculptra is not dissolvable. That's why we dose conservatively, in stages, and reassess between sessions. We'd rather have you come back for a fourth vial than overshoot.
Can I combine Sculptra with Botox or fillers?
Yes. Many of our patients combine Sculptra (foundation) with HA filler (detail) and Botox (dynamic lines). The three work in different layers and on different timelines. Sequencing matters — your consult will outline the order.
