Frequently asked
Precision medicine, answered.
The questions Bergen County patients ask before beginning the Roadmap.
What is longevity precision medicine?
Longevity precision medicine is the diagnostic foundation of an Aesura care plan. Comprehensive blood work, functional testing, biological age, Galleri multi-cancer screening, coronary CT, and Prenuvo whole-body MRI — sequenced and synthesized into a written roadmap. We measure where your body actually is, not where age charts say it should be.
What is the Aesura Roadmap Protocol?
The Roadmap Protocol is our flagship onboarding for new longevity patients. We synthesize your comprehensive blood work, functional panels, biological age, family history, and goals into a written 12-month plan with clear interventions, retest cadence, and decision points. It includes a 90-minute physician review, a written report you take home, and quarterly check-ins.
What does the comprehensive blood work measure?
Aesura's comprehensive panel runs 60+ longevity-focused biomarkers. Advanced lipids (ApoB, Lp(a), particle counts), full hormone panel, thyroid axis, fasting insulin and HOMA-IR, hsCRP and inflammatory markers, homocysteine, omega index, ferritin, B12/folate, vitamin D, full metabolic, and genomic markers when indicated. Standard physicals run 15. We run 4× as many.
What is biological age testing?
Biological age testing measures how old your cells actually behave, separate from your chronological age. We use TruDiagnostic's TrueAge ($699) and TrueHealth ($699) — methylation-based DNA panels (Horvath-style clocks) that estimate biological age, pace of aging, immune-cell composition, and (with TrueHealth) organ-system aging. Simple at-home or in-clinic blood collection, results in 4–6 weeks. Patients re-test annually to track whether interventions are moving the needle.
What is the Galleri test?
Galleri is a multi-cancer early detection blood test from GRAIL — $1,099 at Aesura. It screens for a signal shared across 50+ cancers, many of which have no routine screen today. We can perform the blood draw in our Hackensack office, or send a requisition to Quest Diagnostics for collection at any Quest patient service center. The result is interpreted in our office and integrated into your roadmap. Appropriate for adults 50+ or with elevated familial risk — alongside age-appropriate standard screening, never as a replacement for mammography, colonoscopy, or PSA where indicated.
What is coronary calcium CT and CT angiography?
Coronary CT calcium scoring is a low-radiation, non-contrast scan that quantifies calcified plaque in the heart's arteries — one of the strongest predictors of cardiovascular events. CT coronary angiography (CCTA) adds contrast to image both calcified and soft plaque. Aesura coordinates these scans with imaging partners and integrates the results into your cardiometabolic plan.
What is Prenuvo whole-body MRI?
Prenuvo is a non-contrast, no-radiation whole-body MRI screening protocol — $2,499 per scan. A single ~60-minute session evaluates the brain, spine, organs, and soft tissues for early-stage tumors, aneurysms, and structural disease. Aesura helps you order through Prenuvo's nearest center (Manhattan or partner) and reviews the report with you alongside your blood, functional, biological-age, and cardiac data — built into your roadmap, never just emailed and forgotten.
Do I need all of these tests?
No — and this matters. Precision medicine is precise because it's matched to the patient. Most Aesura patients begin with the comprehensive blood work and the Roadmap Protocol. We layer in functional testing, biological age, Galleri, cardiac CT, or Prenuvo based on family history, prior labs, age, and goals. Nothing is reflexive.
How much does the Roadmap Protocol cost in Bergen County, NJ?
The Roadmap Protocol is included with your comprehensive blood panel — there is no separate roadmap fee. The comprehensive panel covers the labs, the 90-minute physician review, the written 12-month plan, and quarterly check-ins. Add-on tests are priced separately: biological age (TrueAge / TrueHealth) $699 each, Galleri $1,099, Prenuvo $2,499; Vibrant Wellness functional panels run $535–$1,145. We share full pricing transparently before any decision.
Does insurance cover precision medicine testing?
Most longevity-focused panels are paid out of pocket because they fall outside what insurance considers medically necessary. Some standard markers and indicated imaging may be billable through insurance — we provide a superbill for self-submission where appropriate. We are transparent about what is and isn't billable before ordering.
How often should I retest?
For most markers, 90 days after intervention to confirm direction, then every 6–12 months once stable. Biological age annually. Galleri annually if part of your plan. Coronary CT every 3–5 years depending on baseline. Prenuvo every 1–2 years for high-risk profiles. The Roadmap Protocol sets the cadence in writing.
Do you offer a longevity membership?
Yes — the Aesura Membership starts at $999 per month. It pairs you directly with Dr. Joseph for 1:1 strategy sessions, curated diagnostic packages, and continuously refined roadmaps across hormones, regenerative therapy, recovery, and metabolic health. Membership is selective: every prospective member begins with a complimentary fit consultation, and not every applicant is invited to join.
How do I apply for the Aesura Membership?
Schedule a complimentary fit consultation. We review your goals, prior labs, and what end-to-end care would look like for you. If the Membership is the right fit, you're invited in. If a single roadmap or one of our standalone services serves you better, we'll tell you. The Membership is intentionally small — that's by design.
